Bird Bungalow is a family run parrot specialty shop in Southern California. 
We specialize in hand-feeding, fledging and weaning baby parrots of a variety of species in our nursery. We are famous for our open “hanging forest” where customers interact and socialize the fledged babies.
Bird Bungalow is only store in Southern California that has a “baby visiting bar” and live access via internet for off-site viewing of your baby or your boarded bird.
Bird Bungalow is what you should expect from a full service specialty store:
- Qualified staff to answer questions;
- Boarding for your parrot when you go on vacation;
- Grooming and full inventory of food items as well as toys, perches, exercise gyms, ropes, hanging gyms, crocks, cups, etc.;
- Several lines of cages to fit everyone's budget.
Bird Bungalow is a longtime dream of Lori Moore, the owner. After many years of not being satisfied with bird retailers and private breeders, she followed her dream of opening the ultimate parrot specialty store. “The one thing I was determined to do was educate the consumer of what they were 'getting themselves into.' I wanted them to understand that an Umbrella Cockatoo was not just a cuddle toy and that a Sun Conure was not just a beautiful parrot.”
Lori feels strongly that responsible bird owning begins not only with the potential owner but with the seller.
Each new owner must be screened by the staff at Bird Bungalow and an appropriate species is selected by the potential bird owner. Every potential bird owner is pressed to educate themselves further on not only the species they want to adopt, but on all parrot behavior. For this reason, hard to find videos, publications, periodicals, magazines and books are kept in stock and available for purchase. Questions are encouraged and the staff at Bird Bungalow spend a considerable amount of time on the telephone and in person answering and/or offering suggestions regarding behavior.
